Dear Sir/Madam,

I am contacting you on behalf of the organising committee of the International Student Congress of (bio)Medical Sciences (ISCOMS) in the Netherlands. We are interested in promoting our congress amongst students in Greece. ISCOMS is a stimulating venue for student research exchange and it gives students the opportunity to broaden their (international) social scientific network. For this reason, we are contacting you to ask for your help in promoting the congress.

 ISCOMS is one of world’s leading international biomedical student congresses. It provides students the opportunity to showcase their research, as well as to attend interesting lectures, student presentations and interactive workshops to extend their knowledge on the latest biomedical research. Also, with the ISCOMS Research Fellowship (IRF) we give students who presented their research at ISCOMS an opportunity to acquire a taste of doing research in the Netherlands and more specific at the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG).  Various research institutes at the UMCG are interested in welcoming young and talented foreign (bio)medical students to their institutes and give them the opportunity to experience what doing research in the UMCG is like. As a student you get the chance to perform research at a leading institute, meet top-researchers and learn about the possibilities of doing a PhD-programme in the Netherlands.

Besides the scientific programme we provide an extensive social programme, which includes a city tour, a formal dinner and the World Wide ISCOMS Night party.

 The 22^nd edition of ISCOMS will take place 2^nd – 5^th June 2015 in Groningen, The Netherlands. Last year’s congress was a great success, with 592 participants attending from over 50 countries.

This year, the abstract submission will be opened from the 20^th of October 2014 until the 13th of February 2015. In order for this year’s congress to continue in its legacy, as one of the biggest international student congresses, we need to reach passionate students from all over the world. For this reason, we are looking for your support. Your interaction with students in the biomedical sciences proves to be a great asset to our cause and this collaboration may prove to be a great opportunity for  your students. After all, this is a once in a lifetime experience for students who are not only passionate about research but also want to share their work and learn from the work of others.

We would be very grateful for any help that you could provide. In particular, by promoting our congress through word of mouth, as well as through the distribution of our promotional material. Therefore, we would like to kindly ask you to send us your post address or the post address of your university, so that we can send our posters and flyers to you.
